Criminal Investigations Division

The Criminal Investigations Division is responsible for the investigation of crimes reported to the Murfreesboro Police Department. Currently, the division is divided into four sections:
As a division we conducted thousands of investigations into various crimes. We strive to work with other agencies in an effort to better serve the citizens of Murfreesboro.


In 2012, the division relocated from the overcrowded space on the second and third floor of the main building of the Police Department. The division now operates mostly from its new location on South Rutherford Boulevard.

Personnel Changes

In the past year, the Criminal Investigations Division has had many changes in personnel and leadership. These changes have been important for the growth of our division. The following is a list of promotions:
  • Sergeant Wayne Lawson
  • Sergeant Katrina Henderson

Staff Training

In addition to these personnel changes, Captain McDaniel and Sergeant Mike Taylor attended prominent law enforcement training schools. Captain McDaniel attended the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command. Sergeant Mike Taylor attended the National Forensics Academy in Knoxville, Tennessee. This training focused on the collection and analysis of forensic evidence.

The detectives of the Criminal Investigations Division work diligently to aide the citizens of Murfreesboro. They are dedicated to do their best and provide a safe environment.
