Using the Murfreesboro Police Department Police Online Citizen Reporting System you can report the following incidents:

Welcome to the Murfreesboro Police Department Citizens Online Police Reporting System. If this is an Emergency please call 911. Using this online citizen police report system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the police report for free. Please confirm the following to find out if online citizen police report filing is right for you:

  • Is this an emergency?
  • Did this occur OUTSIDE the Murfreesboro City limits?  If so, you will not be able to file a report with the Murfreesboro Police Department.  Please contact the agency where the incident occurred.
  • Are there any known suspects?
  • Did this occur on an Interstate Highway?

If you answered no to all of the above questions, you are ready to file your report online. Please make sure to turn off your pop-up blocking software before filing the report. Upon completion of this report process you will:

  • See the words: "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your police report is complete.
  • Be able to print a copy of the police report to keep for your records.
  • You will be contacted by an officer for completion of your report in the order of which it was received.
  • You will be contacted at a later date for reports filed after hours, on weekends and holidays.

  • All cases filed using the Citizens Online Police Reporting System will be reviewed.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you may be contacted.
  • Filing a false police report is a crime.

In Person

To file a report in person, please visit Murfreesboro Police Headquarters located at 1004 N. Highland Ave. Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 

By Telephone

Some types of reports can be filed by calling the MPD non-emergency number at (615) 893-1311 and asking for our TeleServe Section.  An officer will be able to take your non-emergency report over the telephone. Depending on call volume the return calls are made in order by the date and time they are received. For your convenience, many telephonic reports may be completed online with no wait.
