It is the policy of the Murfreesboro Police Department to allow commissioned law enforcement employees to work in an outside police related employment (moonlighting) capacity under specific guidelines set forth by the City of Murfreesboro and the Murfreesboro Police Department.
All outside employment for off-duty officers is administered and scheduled through Extra Duty Solutions (EDS) in cooperation with the City of Murfreesboro and the Murfreesboro Police Department.
Extra Duty Solutions (EDS)
Any questions should be made to EDS. Requests for outside employment should be made five (5) days prior to the event. All requests are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis by EDS and the Murfreesboro Police Department's Office of Professional Responsibility.
No Murfreesboro Police Officer may work any police-related off-duty employment located outside the corporate city limits of the City of Murfreesboro.
